General Information
Brenton on Sea is situated on the Southern cape coast of the Western Cape province of South Africa. Brenton on Sea is a popular holiday destination on the scenic Garden Route just outside of Knysna. Brenton on Sea is almost entirely surrounded by the Goukamma Nature Reserve with its Fynbos-rich slopes. The village is situated only 500 kilometres from Cape Town and 60 kilometres from the airport at George.
Activities and Businesses
The Brenton blue butterfly Reserve is a must see - in nature this rare butterfly can be seen from late October until December. Brenton on Sea offers visitors stretches of golden sands that lure sunbathers, fishermen and those who love to go for long walks on the beach!
Visitors can enjoy some spectacular whale and dolphin watching from the cliff tops in season. For the more adventurous, paragliding is a hugely popular activity here! At Brenton on Lake there is a jetty for launching boats and canoes.
The Knysna forests and the Goukamma Nature Reserve, which includes a 14 kilometre coastline, offer some great walking and hiking trails.
Brenton on Sea is the ideal backdrop to an intimate wedding ceremony on the beach with beautiful views and dramatic sunsets.
